The Gifts of Imperfect Parenting
About this event
Every parent wants what’s best for their child. We scramble to figure it out, doing the best we can to either avoid or replicate what we experienced growing up. We search to find the “right” way to raise our kids and attend the “best” schools, all while trying to make sure that our offspring are happy and well-adjusted and that is EXHAUSTING. What if there was another way? What if there was a framework for you to be human? What if your perfect imperfection as a parent was good enough? What if this actually helped your kids be happier, healthier, and allowed for an even more amazing relationship for the two of you?
Yolanda Harper, LCSW is the Founder and Director of Harper Therapy, a perfectly imperfect business owner, therapist, researcher, trainer, and teacher. She is also a wife and mom to three human children and two therapy dogs — Goldendoodles Toby and Hobbes, as well as a daughter, a sister, a friend. Like yours, her life has not been easy. Wounded healers are the fiercest Hope-Holders, and that is the sacred space of hope and possibility that she and her team of skilled therapists offer clients. Yolanda is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work. She is a Master Accelerated Resolution Therapist and is a Certified Trainer for the therapy. As a Certified Daring Way Facilitator™, Yolanda teaches about Brené Brown’s 15 years of research on shame resiliency, vulnerability, and connection so that we can wrap our common experiences into words that make sense. Yolanda believes in community, connection, and giving back, and you’ll often find her engaged in conversations and service to promote mental, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being.
