Connecting entrepreneurs with the power of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The Tampa Bay Women’s Business Centre is part of the national network of Women’s Business Centers supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership. This affiliation expands access to entrepreneurial education, counseling, technical assistance, and connections to SBA and community resources.

How the SBA Supports Small Businesses

The SBA works through resource partners, lenders, contracting programs, and disaster-assistance services. Depending on business needs, resources may include:

  • Women’s Business Centers
  • Small Business Development Centers
  • SCORE business mentoring
  • Veterans Business Outreach Centers
  • APEX Accelerators for government contracting
  • SBA-backed loan programs delivered through approved lenders
  • Federal contracting and certification resources
  • Disaster assistance and recovery information
  • Online learning, market research, and business guides

    Start with the Centre

We can help clients understand which SBA or partner resource may fit their situation and provide a warm referral when possible. The no-wrong-door approach is designed to reduce confusion and connect entrepreneurs to meaningful service more quickly.

      SBA Ascent Program

The Ascent learning platform is organized into a series of learning pathways that cover the core areas of entrepreneurship. You can begin with the pathway that best matches your current stage of business and skip topics you have already mastered.

Each pathway includes practical learning modules, resources, and activities designed to help you build the knowledge and skills needed to launch and grow your business. Estimated completion times are provided so you can learn at your own pace and apply what you learn when it makes the most sense for your business.

For the greatest benefit, we encourage you to pair the Ascent program with our complimentary one-on-one business coaching. Whether you are exploring a business idea, starting a new venture, or growing an existing business, our business coaches are available to answer questions, provide feedback, and help you confidently move through each stage of your entrepreneurial journey.
