SUMMARY:Laughing All The Way Improv for Joy & Stress Relief During The Holidays
DESCRIPTION:Make the most of this holiday season by embracing joy\, connection\, and creativity! \nImprov (short for “improvisational theatre”) is the art of making something out of nothing; creating fun\, spontaneous moments with others by responding to ideas. Through interactive and low-pressure improv activities\, you’ll be encouraged to tap into your creativity\, spontaneity\, and humor to relieve stress\, promote connection\, and experience the benefits of laughter. No improv or performance experience is needed—just a willingness to play and have fun! \nThis workshop is great for: \n\nAnyone looking to reduce holiday stress\, boost their mood\, and experience more joy during the season.\nThose who want to improve their social confidence\, think on their feet\, and practice setting boundaries.\nPeople interested in using creativity and play as a way to support their mental and emotional well-being.\nAges 18 and up\, and all gender identities are welcome!\n\nWhat you’ll experience: In this special holiday-themed workshop\, we will use comedic storytelling and playful improv activities to address common holiday challenges such as: \n\nManaging stress and overwhelm from busy schedules and family obligations.\nSetting healthy boundaries while navigating difficult conversations or situations.\nFinding moments of joy and self-care despite holiday pressures.\n\nIn this workshop\, you will: \n\nParticipate in simple and engaging improv exercises that promote mindfulness\, flexibility\, and emotional expression.\nExplore ways to use humor and creativity to shift perspectives on holiday stressors.\nPractice staying grounded\, present\, and resilient through quick-thinking games and scenarios.\n\n \nAbout the speaker: \nTiffany is a counselor at the Centre for Women\, blending creative empowerment with holistic wellness. With a background in nonprofit management\, education\, and the performing arts\, she creates inclusive spaces for self-expression and community connection. Her experience includes roles as a stage director and program manager in Washington D.C. and the Gulf Coast\, where she expanded arts access and community engagement. \nA graduate of the University of Central Florida Conservatory Theatre\, Tiffany is pursuing an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. With over a decade in improvisational theater\, she established an improv training program and a touring musical improv team\, and she looks forward to bringing the healing power of improv to the Centre.
